As promised to HL-S, photos of my Scotch Broom from three weeks of weeks ago. These bloom fragrant, tiny flowers for about three weeks, and then they look like brooms for the other 49 weeks of the year. I wish I could bottle the sweet fragrance in a Yankee candle. (That’s rhetorical; I’m sure Martha Stewart could help me there but I’m not going to investigate.) The Scotch Room is one random gardening decision I made a couple of years ago; it didn’t exist when I moved in.
Oh, it’s beautiful. Where did you get it?
It is beautiful!
You know, along the lines of ‘heritage landscaping’ and plants you’ll have difficulty finding in the garden department of local stores… my folks had what they called a ‘Sweet Betsy’ bush when I was growing up that I’d LOVE to transplant. It has the most wonderful smell of any plant I know. 🙂
